The Lagos State Government has commissioned a series of major infrastructure projects as part of efforts to improve public services and enhance safety across the state.
The projects, inaugurated between April 8 and 9, 2026, were unveiled on behalf of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu by Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
One of the highlights is the Tolu School Complex in Olodi Apapa, Ajegunle, within Ajeromi-Ifelodun Local Government Area. The facility houses 36 schools, alongside a modern fire station and a stadium equipped with 19 mini football pitches.
The government said the inclusion of a fire station within the school environment reflects a strategic approach to community safety and infrastructure planning.
Also commissioned is a multi-agency complex named after Tinubu, designed to improve coordination among public service institutions and emergency responders in the state.
Speaking during the inauguration, the Controller General of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Adeseye Margaret Abimbola, said the new Tolu Fire Station has increased the number of fire stations in Lagos to 25.
She noted that the station is the eleventh delivered under the administration of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, adding that more stations are currently under construction, with additional ones expected before the end of the year.
According to her, the expansion will strengthen emergency response, particularly in densely populated communities.
The state government said the projects demonstrate its commitment to building a safer, more resilient and inclusive Lagos.
