The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has delisted 23 Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres across the country over technical deficiencies identified during the 2026 Mock Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
JAMB disclosed this in a statement issued by its Public Communication Adviser, Fabian Benjamin, noting that the decision followed a post-examination technical review.
According to the Board, the affected centres failed to meet required operational standards, while one centre in Lagos State has been permanently barred from participating in future examinations.
Benjamin explained that the mock UTME is designed to assess the readiness of accredited centres and prepare candidates for the main examination.
He added that the exercise also helps JAMB identify technical gaps and ensure only compliant centres are allowed to conduct examinations.
The Board stated that sanctions were necessary to protect the credibility and integrity of its examinations nationwide.
It urged candidates preparing for the main UTME to remain calm, assuring that necessary adjustments would be made to avoid disadvantaging any candidate.
JAMB also warned that centres with minor issues must immediately address identified shortcomings or risk further sanctions.
Candidates were advised to continue printing their examination notification slips for confirmation of their exam details, venues, and schedules.
