The Lagos State Police Command has arrested three suspected armed robbers in the Idimu area of the state, recovering a motorcycle, weapons, and other items believed to have been used in criminal activities.
The suspects were intercepted around 02:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, during a routine patrol near Car Wash Bus Stop by First Bank in Idimu.
The suspects — Abdullahi Mustapha (20), Salisu Sannusi (30), and Jamiu Sahidu (26) — were arrested while riding a Bajaj motorcycle with registration number AKD 40 OM.
According to the police, a search of the suspects led to the recovery of a machete concealed in clothing, an army camouflage uniform, four mobile phones, a power bank, and cash suspected to have been stolen.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Adebisi, said preliminary investigations indicate the suspects had been targeting unsuspecting members of the public before fleeing crime scenes.
She added that the suspects are currently in custody while investigations continue.
The Commissioner of Police in Lagos, Tijani Fatai, reaffirmed the command’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property across the state.
He urged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to security agencies, noting that the command will intensify patrols in identified crime hotspots.
Police said efforts are ongoing to conclude investigations and prosecute the suspects in accordance with the law.
