The Lagos State Government, through the Office of Education Quality Assurance (OEQA), has unveiled a new strategic document aimed at improving service delivery and boosting efficiency across the education sector.
Speaking at the launch, Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Jamiu Alli-Balogun, described the initiative as a major milestone, noting that it goes beyond a document to reflect a collective effort to build a more structured, result-driven education system in the state.
The Director of OEQA, Sulaimon Ogunmuyiwa, explained that the strategy provides a clear roadmap for action, aligning workforce responsibilities, strengthening institutional processes and setting measurable targets to guide performance within the agency. He urged staff to take full ownership of the plan and align their duties with its objectives.
Also speaking, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, Abisola Dokunmo-Adegbite, said the initiative would enhance governance by strengthening accountability, transparency and evidence-based decision-making in the education sector.
She added that the strategy is expected to support improvements in infrastructure, promote digital learning and enhance teacher capacity development, ultimately contributing to a more effective and modern education system in Lagos State.
