President Bola Tinubu has commissioned the Ojota–Opebi Link Bridge along with two major infrastructure projects in Lagos, marking the first phase of new developments in the Ikeja axis of the state.

The event brought together top dignitaries, including Governors Dapo Abiodun, Douye Diri, Hope Uzodinma and Babagana Zulum.

Represented by Senate President Godswill Akpabio, the President arrived at the project site alongside Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and took a symbolic drive across the newly completed bridge to officially open it for public use.

Speaking at the ceremony, Tinubu said the projects reflect a government committed to delivering visible and impactful development that directly improves the lives of citizens. He added that the initiatives align with the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda aimed at building a modern, economically vibrant and digitally driven Nigeria.

In his remarks, Governor Sanwo-Olu explained that the projects are designed to improve mobility, strengthen urban planning and enhance public service delivery across Lagos. He noted that the focus remains on practical solutions that produce measurable results for residents.

The 5.04-kilometre Ojota–Opebi Link Bridge is expected to significantly ease traffic congestion and cut travel time within the busy Ikeja corridor. Also commissioned were the Multi-Agency Building in Alausa, aimed at improving inter-agency collaboration, and the Lagos State Geographic Information Service (LAGIS) facility, which will modernise land administration and geospatial data management in the state.
