Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has rejoiced with Nigerians, particularly Christian faithful and residents of the state, as they celebrate Easter, which marks the commemoration of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Speaking with newsmen at Lagos House, Marina, the Governor urged residents to embrace love, unity and the spirit of sacrifice, noting that the season presents an opportunity to reflect on the teachings of Jesus Christ. He commended Christians for their devotion during the Lenten period and encouraged them to sustain the virtues of spirituality, charity, compassion and peaceful coexistence.

Governor Sanwo-Olu also spoke on the state of the nation, commending President Bola Tinubu for ongoing reforms he said are driving growth and development across the country. He, however, expressed concern over the rising spate of insecurity in some parts of Nigeria.

The Governor noted that Lagos State has remained peaceful despite prevailing challenges and urged residents to celebrate Easter in moderation. He expressed optimism about the future of the country under the Renewed Hope agenda.
