Fidelity Bank Plc has reaffirmed its support for Nigeria’s beauty industry and women-owned businesses at the Beauty in the Motherland 2026 commemorative dinner and awards ceremony in Lagos.
The event, held on October 6 at the Eko Convention Centre, Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, recognised contributions to creativity, entrepreneurship and business development across the beauty and lifestyle sector.
A major highlight was the presentation of a special recognition award to Fidelity Bank’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Dr Nneka Onyeali-Ikpe, for her leadership and the bank’s contribution to the initiative.
Speaking at the ceremony, Onyeali-Ikpe said the bank’s sponsorship of the programme for a third consecutive year reflected its confidence in the industry’s growth potential and the entrepreneurs driving it.
She said Fidelity Bank would continue to support businesses with access to finance, business knowledge, new markets and other resources needed to build sustainable enterprises.
The three-day Beauty in the Motherland programme attracted more than 3,000 attendees and over 300 exhibitors across skincare, haircare, fragrance, cosmetics, wellness and related sectors.
Beyond sponsoring the event, Fidelity Bank provided account-opening, payment and advisory services to participating businesses. It also served as the event’s exclusive point-of-sale provider, facilitating vendor transactions through digital payment solutions.
The bank showcased products including Fidelity POS Instant Settlement, PayGate Plus and small and medium-sized enterprise accounts, while engaging exhibitors on financial management and business expansion.
Organisers Beatrice Obinna Eneh and Linda Edozien said the initiative aims to promote African beauty products and resources, strengthen industry structures and improve entrepreneurs’ access to markets.
Fidelity Bank also supports small businesses through programmes such as the Fidelity SME Hub, Fidelity Quarterly Business Forum, SME masterclasses, HerFidelity and FundHer, which provide financing, business advisory and capacity-development opportunities.
