Fidelity Bank Plc and Foremost Radiology are partnering to promote breast cancer awareness and early detection through the bank’s women-focused HerFidelity initiative as part of activities marking Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The campaign encourages women to recognise possible warning signs, seek professional medical advice and take timely action when they notice unusual changes in their breasts.
Breast cancer may present through a lump or thickening, changes in breast size or shape, skin or nipple changes, or unusual nipple discharge. Although these symptoms do not necessarily indicate cancer, health professionals advise that unusual changes should be evaluated promptly.
Under the health and wellness pillar of HerFidelity, the bank is collaborating with Foremost Radiology to promote informed conversations about breast health and encourage women to prioritise their wellbeing.
A major activity is a webinar scheduled for Friday, October 16, 2026, at 10 a.m. West African Time, with the theme, “Beyond the Lump: The Role of Awareness and Imaging in Early Breast Cancer Detection.”
The session will feature Dr Alabi, a Consultant Radiation and Clinical Oncologist, who is expected to discuss breast cancer warning signs, medical imaging and the importance of timely professional evaluation. Participants will also have the opportunity to ask questions.
The campaign will continue with a breast health screening and awareness outreach at Oyingbo Market in Lagos on October 25, 2026. The outreach is intended to bring breast health information closer to women in the commercial community and reinforce the importance of seeking qualified medical attention when necessary.
The initiative is guided by the message, “Know, Check, Act,” with organisers emphasising awareness and informed action rather than fear.
Beyond health awareness, HerFidelity supports women through access to finance, business education, capacity building, mentorship, entrepreneurship support and wellness programmes.
The initiative reflects the bank’s approach to women’s empowerment, which combines financial inclusion with access to information and services that support women’s economic advancement and wellbeing.
