Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has approved the appointment of Professor Badejo Ayodeji Olawunmi as the new Vice-Chancellor of Lagos State University (LASU).

Badejo, a Professor of Guidance and Counselling, succeeds Professor Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, whose five-year tenure expires with her retirement from the university.

The new Vice-Chancellor was born on August 4, 1962, and obtained both her Master of Education and Doctor of Philosophy degrees in Guidance and Counselling from the University of Lagos.

Her appointment places her at the helm of affairs of one of Lagos State’s major tertiary institutions, following the completion of Olatunji-Bello’s five-year tenure.

The appointment was approved by Governor Sanwo-Olu as the state government prepares for a new administration at the university.
