Union Bank of Nigeria has been recognised for its commitment to gender inclusion, winning the Most Outstanding Bank in Gender Inclusion award at the Women in Marketing and Communications Conference and Awards (WIMCA) 2026 held in Lagos.
The recognition highlights the bank’s efforts to promote gender diversity through workplace inclusion and initiatives designed to support women, female entrepreneurs and professionals. These initiatives include tailored financial products, mentorship programmes, capacity-building opportunities, networking platforms and broader economic empowerment schemes.
The conference, themed “Grow, Give, Glow: Building Resilience for Distinction,” brought together leading female marketing and communications professionals from across Africa to discuss leadership, resilience and emerging trends within the industry.
Union Bank’s Chief Brand and Marketing Officer, Olufunmilola Aluko, was also honoured as one of the Top 50 Most Influential Women in Marketing and Communications at the event, alongside other prominent industry leaders.
Speaking on the recognition, Aluko described the awards as a validation of the bank’s commitment to advancing gender inclusion and creating opportunities for women to thrive in their careers and contribute to industry growth.
She said the honour reinforces Union Bank’s resolve to expand opportunities for women across its workforce, customer base and the wider society.
Organised by Brand Communicator magazine, WIMCA serves as a platform for promoting female leadership and increasing women’s participation in the marketing, branding and communications sector.
Union Bank said it remains committed to supporting initiatives that promote women’s empowerment, inclusive growth and greater participation in the marketing communications industry.
