Lagos State Governor and Visitor to Lagos State University, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has charged graduating students of the institution to use their knowledge, character and courage to make a positive impact on society.
Sanwo-Olu gave the charge on Wednesday at the 29th and 30th combined convocation ceremonies of LASU, held at the Buba Marwa Auditorium, Ojo.
He congratulated the 20,604 graduands from the 2024/2025 and 2025/2026 academic sessions, including 494 First Class graduates and 3,383 postgraduate graduands.
The governor highlighted his administration’s investments in the university, including the library complex, student accommodation, lecture theatres and student union building.
He also noted the expansion of Lagos State’s higher education system from one university to three, with another university dedicated to medicine and health sciences in the pipeline.
Sanwo-Olu, who attended his final convocation as Visitor to LASU, urged the graduates to remain worthy ambassadors of the university, Lagos State and Nigeria.
He encouraged them to demonstrate excellence wherever they find themselves, saying, “Go, and be the proof.”
