The Health Facilities Monitoring and Accreditation Agency (HEFAMAA) has entered into a strategic partnership with the Association of Radiographers of Nigeria (ARN) as part of efforts to improve radiography services and healthcare delivery in Lagos State.
The partnership was initiated during a courtesy visit by the executive officers of the Association to the Agency.
Speaking during the meeting, the Executive Secretary of HEFAMAA, Dr. Victoria Egunjobi, reaffirmed the Agency's commitment to collaboration with stakeholders in the health sector. She noted that HEFAMAA maintains an open-door policy and welcomes partnerships that contribute to improved healthcare service delivery for residents of Lagos State.
Dr. Egunjobi explained that as a health facility regulatory agency, HEFAMAA remains committed to initiatives that enhance quality healthcare standards. She, however, stressed the importance of radiographers remaining actively engaged in clinical practice to stay updated on emerging trends and best practices in the profession.
On behalf of the Association of Radiographers of Nigeria, Lagos State Chapter, the Chairman, Rad. Mary Olayinka, called for closer collaboration with HEFAMAA. She requested the inclusion of radiographers in the Agency's monitoring teams, the organisation of capacity-building programmes, and the strengthening of feedback mechanisms to support effective regulation and service delivery.
Olayinka also praised HEFAMAA for its contributions to the health sector, noting that the Agency's regulatory activities have helped to curb quackery and improve the quality of healthcare services across Lagos State.
The partnership is expected to promote professional excellence in radiography practice and further strengthen healthcare regulation and patient care in the state.
