The Urhobo and Isoko communities in Lagos are set to honour the Deputy Chief of Staff to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Engr. Samuel Egube, with an Outstanding Leader Award in recognition of his contributions to public service and leadership.

According to a statement issued by the organisers, the award ceremony will take place on July 18 at the Shell Hall of the MUSON Centre, Onikan, Lagos.

The group described Egube as a distinguished son of the Urhobo and Isoko nations whose achievements in governance and public administration have brought pride to the South-South community in Lagos.

The organisers said the event is aimed at celebrating excellence, honouring leadership and inspiring future generations through the recognition of outstanding service.

Egube, an economist and investment professional, previously served as Lagos State Commissioner for Economic Planning and Budget, where he played a key role in the development of the state's budgets and long-term economic plans.

During his tenure, he championed data-driven governance, fiscal transparency and strategic policy initiatives, including contributions to the Ehingbeti Economic Summit.

Before joining public service, he worked in the financial sector with institutions including GTBank and AIICO Capital.

As Deputy Chief of Staff, Egube currently supports Governor Sanwo-Olu in policy coordination, strategic planning and the implementation of key government programmes across ministries and agencies.
