President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the reconstruction of the Ado-Ijan-Ilumoba-Ikole Road in Ekiti State under the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Infrastructure Project Fund.
The approval was conveyed in a letter dated July 1, 2026, addressed to the Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, and the Chairman of the Nigeria Revenue Service, Zach Adedeji, with a copy sent to Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji.
The road serves as a major transport corridor linking the South-West region to the Federal Capital Territory and provides access to key institutions and facilities, including the Federal Polytechnic, Afe Babalola University, Ekiti Agro-Allied International Cargo Airport, Ekiti Knowledge Zone and the Federal Institute of Transport Technology.
The project comes less than a year after the commencement of reconstruction work on the Itawure-Aramoko-Ado-Ekiti Road, also approved by the President.
Governor Oyebanji welcomed the approval, describing it as a demonstration of President Tinubu’s commitment to infrastructure development in Ekiti State and across the country under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
He said the intervention would improve connectivity, support economic activities and enhance access to strategic educational, industrial and transportation facilities within the state.
The governor also highlighted his administration’s investments in road infrastructure, noting that more than two hundred and eighty-five kilometres of inter-city and intra-city roads, including a flyover, have been constructed in the last three and a half years, alongside one hundred and thirty-five kilometres of rural roads delivered through the Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project.
