The Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF), in collaboration with the Lagos State Ministry of Wealth Creation and Employment and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), has commenced applications for the third phase of the Lagos State Employability Support Project (LSESP), aimed at boosting employability and strengthening Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) across the state.

The initiative targets Lagos residents aged between 18 and 45 years, as well as MSME owners, offering free skills development and business support opportunities designed to improve economic participation and create sustainable livelihoods.

According to LSETF, the third phase builds on the achievements of previous editions by providing practical and industry-relevant training aligned with current labour market needs and emerging economic opportunities.

The programme will focus on four key areas: Digital Skills, Leather Works, Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), and MSME Capacity Building.

LSETF said the project underscores its commitment to empowering residents through targeted interventions that promote entrepreneurship, improve workforce readiness and support inclusive economic growth.

The agency noted that participants will gain skills and knowledge required to remain competitive and productive in an evolving economy, while businesses will benefit from capacity-building support aimed at enhancing sustainability and growth.

Interested applicants are required to possess a valid Lagos State Residents Registration Agency (LASRRA) identification card. Eligible graduates are also expected to provide their National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) certificate where applicable.

Applications for the programme are open until July 31, 2026.

The Lagos State Employability Support Project is one of the state's strategic interventions to tackle unemployment, improve workforce competitiveness, support MSMEs and drive inclusive economic development through partnerships and skills acquisition programmes.

Established by the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund Law of 2016, LSETF continues to provide financial support, promote entrepreneurship, create jobs and enhance the employability of Lagos residents through innovative programmes and strategic collaborations.
