Babajide Sanwo-Olu says the steady growth and development of Lagos State is largely driven by effective collaboration among the three arms of government and key public institutions.

The governor made the remarks at the 19th Executive and Legislative Parley held in Victoria Island, with the theme “Equal Participation in Governance: Highlighting the Importance of Collaboration in Achieving the Present Administration’s T.H.E.M.E.S+ Agenda.”

He said the current administration remains focused on completing all outstanding projects as it gradually winds down, while also strengthening key policy frameworks to ensure continuity in governance.

Governor Sanwo-Olu announced plans to advance a Legacy/Transition Bill, convene a Citizens’ Assembly to develop an inclusive development roadmap, and publish a State of Lagos Report by the fourth quarter of the year to improve transparency and public access to information.

Speaking at the event, Special Adviser on Political, Legislative and Civic Engagement, Dr. Tajudeen Afolabi, said the office has played a key role in strengthening institutional relationships and promoting citizen participation in governance through dialogue and partnerships across all levels.

He noted that the parley was designed to address governance challenges and develop practical solutions for improved service delivery in the state.

Delivering a presentation titled “Stronger Together: An Imperative for Sustained Good Governance in Lagos,” former Minister of State for Health, Dr. Olorunnimbe Mamora, stressed the need for continuous collaboration among government arms and institutions.

He said effective governance depends on balance, trust and respect among stakeholders, noting that the civil service remains the backbone of sustainable governance.

Stakeholders at the event included the Deputy Governor, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, members of the State House of Assembly, former and serving federal lawmakers, party leaders, members of the Governor’s Advisory Council, permanent secretaries and other top government officials.
